Laser Cutting

High precision laser cutting for mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium at our Campbellfield facility. Clean cuts, tight tolerances, fast turnaround.

Service Overview

Aussie Rebar provides advanced CNC laser cutting services for a wide range of steel and metal materials. Our laser cutting equipment handles mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium across varying thicknesses, producing finished components with smooth edges and accurate dimensions. Every cut is programmed from your CAD drawings or templates, ensuring repeatability and consistency whether you need a single prototype piece or a full production run.

Laser cutting eliminates the need for secondary finishing on most applications. The focused beam produces clean, burr free edges that require no grinding or deburring before welding or assembly. This reduces your labour costs on site and speeds up your project timeline. We work with builders, fabricators, engineers, and manufacturing businesses across Melbourne who need precise steel components delivered ready to use.

Why Choose us

Why Choose Aussie Rebar for Laser Cutting?

Our laser cutting service combines CNC precision with fast production to deliver components that are ready to weld, bolt, or install on arrival.

CNC Programmed Cutting

Every cut is driven by your CAD files ensuring exact replication across single pieces and large batch runs.

Multi Material Capability

We cut mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium on the same equipment with optimised settings for each material type.

Clean Edge Finish

The laser beam produces smooth, burr free edges that eliminate the need for grinding or hand finishing before assembly.

Tight Tolerances

Our equipment maintains dimensional accuracy within fractions of a millimetre across the full cutting bed.

Complex Profiles

Curves, holes, slots, notches, and intricate shapes are all achievable in a single cutting pass without additional tooling.

Minimal Material Waste

We use nesting software to arrange your parts on the sheet for maximum material yield, reducing your costs per piece.

Fast Turnaround

Standard laser cutting orders are processed within 2 to 4 business days depending on material availability and job complexity.

Prototype to Production

Whether you need one test piece or 5,000 identical components, we scale from single unit prototyping to full production runs.

Melbourne Based

Locally operated from our Campbellfield factory with delivery across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

How it works

How Do You Order Laser Cutting From Aussie Rebar?

A straightforward 4 step process from your files to finished components.

Project Consultation
Step 1: Send Us Your Files

Email your DXF, DWG, or PDF drawings to info@aussierebar.com. Include the material type, thickness, quantity, and any special finishing requirements. If you do not have a CAD file, a dimensioned sketch or hand drawing is also accepted.

Step 2: Review Your Quote

We review your files, confirm material availability, and send a detailed quote covering material costs, cutting charges, and delivery. Quotes are typically returned within 24 hours of receiving your files.

Step 3: Cutting and Production

Once you approve the quote, your job is programmed into our CNC laser and scheduled for cutting. We optimise part nesting for material efficiency and run quality checks during production.

Step 4: Inspection and Delivery

Finished components are inspected for dimensional accuracy and edge quality before packaging. Your parts are dispatched labelled and protected for transport to your site or workshop.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Cutting

Common questions from fabricators, builders, and engineers about our laser cutting service.

We cut mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. Mild steel is our most commonly processed material, available in thicknesses from 1 mm up to 20 mm. Stainless and aluminium capacities depend on the grade and thickness. Contact us with your specific material requirements for confirmation.

We accept DXF, DWG, PDF, and STEP files. DXF is the preferred format as it imports directly into our CNC programming software with no conversion required. If you only have a paper drawing or sketch, we can create the cutting file for you at an additional charge.

Standard orders are completed within 2 to 4 business days from quote approval. Larger production runs or orders requiring specific material procurement may take longer. We provide confirmed dispatch dates at the quoting stage so you can plan your project schedule.

No. We accept single piece orders through to large batch production. Whether you need one bracket cut from 10 mm mild steel or 500 identical plates from stainless, we handle all order sizes from our Campbellfield facility.

Our laser cutting produces clean edges that typically do not require secondary finishing. If your project requires additional processing such as drilling, tapping, folding, or surface treatment, we can discuss these as part of your quote. Folding and fabrication services are available in house.
